BASSETLAW Amputee Group: Meets every second Tuesday of the month, 10am at The Crossing Church, Worksop. Provides free impartial advice and support to amputees, their carers, friends and family. BASSETLAW Dyslexia Support Group: Let’s Talk About Motivation, Tuesday 12th April, 6.30-8pm at The Well, 1a Lime Tree Avenue, Retford. An informal session to explore motivation to help learning. BASSETLAW NCT: National Childbirth Trust (NCT) Bassetlaw Branch is holding a nearly new sale on Saturday 9th April at North Notts Arena, Eastgate. Nearly new sales provide parents with the chance to buy top quality clothes, toys and accessories for babies and toddlers in nearly new condition at knock down prices. It also helps families raise cash by selling their unwanted nearly new items that may otherwise have gone to landfill. The first 200 attendees will be given a goody bag with samples from our sponsors. We have lots of sellers and there will be lots of bargains. Also new for this sale is the facility to pay by chip and pin (for a small fee, though not AMEX) as well the usual cash or cheque (with cheque guarantee card). The event opens at 11.15am for NCT members and 11.30am for non-members and closes at 2pm. Entry is £1 donation per person which goes to the NCT Charity both locally and nationally. BLUEBELL Wood Children’s Hospice urgently require stock and would welcome donations of clothes, shoes and bric-a-brac etc. In addition to good quality stock we can also utilise items classed as rags as we able to sell them on. WORKSOP and District Pensioner’s Association: Meets on the second Wednesday of each month in a private room at The Crossing Church and Centre, 2-4pm. Provides entertainment and enjoyment for everyone aged 60 and over. Entertainment includes talks and demonstrations on a variety of subjects, social events, bingo, coach outings, holidays, Christmas Lunch and much more. Bring a friend if you wish. spring Carnival: Saturday 16th April at the Centre for Sport and Learning, Manton Youth and Community Centre, off Shrewsbury Road, 1-4pm. A fun filled day of entertainment including stilt walker, balloon modelling, face painting, tombola, bouncy castle and much more.
