A COMMUNITY garden in Cuckney has been officially opened by the parish council.

Parish council chairman Dr David Collins opened the garden with the help of two teenage volunteers Conor Marple and Jessica Morton.

The land was originally neglected but with help from Notts County Council and Cuckney Parish Council, Groundwork Creswell has been able to create a garden for the whole community.

Groundwork’s deputy executive director Darren Pollard said the project really changes how the space is used.

“It is a great project to be involved with as it’s in the heart of the village.” “It’s particularly nice to see the locals taking pride in looking after the new garden.”
