TRAIN-LOVERS are in for a treat as the Gainsborough Model Railway Society will be holding special open days over the Easter weekend as a tribute to their founder member George Hinchcliffe who died in September and their President Alan Pegler who died last month.
Committee member Chris Wragg said: “ We’ve been able to put together recreations of many of the special trains which George or Alan organised from the early 1950s through to 1980s. We’re also really grateful to the friends and family to whom George left his model locos that we have been able to borrow them and run them all together in public for one last time before they go to their new homes.”
The open daya will take place at the clubrooms in Florence Terrace on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th April from 1.30pm - 6pm and on Easter Monday 9th April, from 10.30am to 6pm. Entry is £4 for adults and £3 for seniors and kids.
