Gainsborough Old Hall doesn’t only house 500 years of history and a ghost – it’s also the habitat for dozens of species of insects.
Now, the medieval manor house is giving families the chance to get up close and personal to some of the creepy crawlies that call the stately pile home.
The birds and beasties event is on from 10am to 5pm on Sunday 28th July and also features displays of beautiful rescued owls looked after by the Raptor Trust.
Theresa Workman, collections access officer, said: “This full and fascinating day gives the chance to see some of the creepy crawlies that inhabit the hall and even study them under a microscope.”
People can also see rescue owls, try their hand at crafts activities and take part in a beastly quiz.
All activities are included in the normal ticket prices, which is £6 for adults, £4 for concessions, £16 for families and free for under-fives.
