A MAN has died after falling ill at Worksop’s Priory Centre yesterday (Thursday).

Police and ambulance crews were called to the Jewel Box jewellers shop just after 10am to reports that a man had collapsed.

A spokesman for East Midlands Ambulance Service said they received the call at 10.04am.

It was classed as a ‘red call’ which indicates a life-threatening emergency situation.

The man, aged 65, was reportedly unconscious but breathing at the time of call.

A single responder arrived at the scene at 10.16am, closely followed by an ambulance crew at 10.17am.

Shoppers watched as paramedics attended to the patient inside the shop.

He was taken to Bassetlaw Hospital by ambulance where he later died.
