Man charged with GBH over ‘serious’ assault on Worksop OAP

A 36-year-old man has been charged with robbery and causing grievous bodily harm with intent after a 79-year-old pensioner suffered head injuries in a serious assault in Worksop.

The incident happened in Gateford Road, Worksop, between 1.50am and 2.30am on Saturday, December 3 2016.

Philip Kelly was recalled to Nottingham Prison in December after being arrested in connection with the investigation.

He was charged with the offences yesterday, Wednesday April 19, and will appear at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on May 18.

He has also been charged with two offences of burglary and one of fraud by false representation.
