A MISTERTON man facing trial for shooting a fellow villager in the face with an air pistol has changed his plea.

Deon Caley, 48, of Grovewood Road, was charged with wounding 40-year-old Kirk Taylor with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Caley initially denied the offence at Nottingham Crown Court in April.

But he changed his plea to guilty, before his trial was due to start on Monday.

The charge relates to an incident in the grounds of Misterton Methodist Church on 11th April.

Mr Taylor sustained facial injuries and needed surgery to remove a pellet lodged in his eye socket.

Caley will be sentenced on Thursday 23rd August at Nottingham Crown Court.
