The Government minister for Schools has described a Worksop primary school as “exceptionally effective” after it was ranked within the top performing 250 schools in the country.
In a letter to the school David Laws MP described Norbridge Academy as being “exceptionally effective at educating its pupils”.
Norbridge has been named among the country’s top schools for the progress children make during nation key stage 2 tests.
These results mean the school also ranked as the second-best in Notts and in the top 10 in the East Midlands.
Mr Laws also praised staff for giving the children “a good start in life and a strong springboard into secondary education.”
In the school’s most recent key stage 2 tests, 100 per cent of pupils achieved at least level 4 in reading, while 94 per cent achieved level 4 in numeracy and writing.
The results also showed that 100 per cent pupils achieved expected or greater progress in key stage 2.
