All night parties, drug use, verbal abuse, vandalism and littering led to a Worksop flat being closed down.
Residents had suffered weeks of anti-social behaviour with people visiting the flat in Lancastrian Way at all times of the day and night.
But their complaints were taken seriously Bassetlaw Council, A1 Housing and Notts Police who applied for a closure notice through the courts.
Worksop magistrates granted the notice on Wednesday 5th March. And that same day the one bedroom flat was closed and boarded up.
It will remain closed for a period of three months while A1 Housing seeks to get an eviction notice for the tenant.
“Residents should not be forced to suffer ASB and have their daily lives made a misery simply because of the selfish and deplorable actions of one man and his acquaintances,” said Coun Julie Leigh, cabinet member for neighbourhoods at Bassetlaw Council.
“We will continue to do everything within our power to ensure that this type of behaviour has no place in our district.”
Sgt Mike Taylor from Notts Police said: “This is a great example of partnership work between the police and the joint ASB team at Bassetlaw to tackle this type of behaviour and address the needs of the community.”
