The sentencing of three men for the attempted robbery of a Worksop pawnbrokers was adjourned today (Wednesday) after the wrong person was brought to court.
Steven Smith, 31, was due to be sentenced for the attempted robbery at H&T Pawnbrokers on 27th June, last year.
But Judge Jonathan Teare was told by defence solicitor Richard Barrowdale at Nottingham Crown Court that the wrong Steven Smith had been brought from prison.
A second defedant Neil Booth, 46, of Lowlands Close, Doncaster had also not being brought from prison in Nottingham, the court heard.
Mr Barrowdale explained to the court that even if all the defendants were present the case would still have to be adjourned, because two of the accused were facing charges relating to other offences.
In Booth’s case a medical report was being prepared, added Mr Barrowdale.
Judge Teare adjourned the case until 13th March.
