VIDEO: Worksop steel band perform ‘Apache’ by The Shadows

Waiting for Video...

Harmonious voices and steel drums can be heard ringing out from Worksop’s Crown Place Community Centre every Thursday.

People from all over Worksop come together to sing in the U3A choir the Musicality Singers and make uplifting steel pan music in steep band the Steel Pantastic.

They are two examples of the various interest and activity groups that form Worksop’s vibrant U3A branch.

The U3A, or University of the Third Age, is a self-funded organisation providing activities for men and women no longer in full time employment.

Drawing on the knowledge, experience and skills of its 200 members the U3A Worksop branch comprises 30 varied interest groups.

From cinema to computer skills, line dancing to lunch club, Scrabble to swing music and walking to watercolour painting and ukelele - there is something for everyone.
