TOP Worksop chess player Jim Burnett faced a challenging 'knight' when he took on four opponents in a blindfold chess match at the Horseshoe Pub on Monday.
Jim Burnett beat fellow players Cliff Briggs and Andrew Smith, drew against Michael Clark and lost to Tim England after forgetting one of Tim's earlier moves.
This gave Tim the chance he needed to clinch a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity against Worksop Chess Club's premium player.
Said Jim: "It was an interesting evening - I could have done better though. It wasn't too difficult to concentrate, but the others played really well."
Worksop Chess Club meet at the Horseshoe pub, Kilton Hill, every Monday and is always looking for male and female members of any age. For more information call 01909 481704.
