Safety warnings issued after area in Worksop revealed as Pokemon '˜hotspot'

Pokemon Go users are urged to have fun but stay alert after an area in Worksop town centre was revealed to be a Pokemon '˜hotspot'.

Safety warnings for users of the popular app have been released by Bassetlaw District Council and Nottinghamshire Police after Bridge Street was found to be awash with digital creatures.

John Simmonds, market supervisor,: “It seems that a lot of characters from Pokemon Go have made Bridge Street their home. It seems to be a popular place to catch Pokemon.

“While we want people to enjoy visiting our town centre, we would like to echo the safety advice that was issued by Nottinghamshire Police earlier this week.
“Please be aware of your surroundings, do not put yourself at risk and stay safe online.”
