Happiness was the order of the day for many GCSE students in Retford as another bumper set of results were revealled.
There were smiles all round at Orchard School where head teacher Victoria Fox highlighted some outstanding results from their star pupils.
“I am delighted with the excellent GCSE results of the Year 11 and Year 10 students this year,” she said.
“Head pupils Natalya Boswell and Matthew Humphreys achieved the most outstanding grades with Natalya gaining five A* and six A’s and Matthew with two A*, seven A’s and one B.
House captain Madeleine Pink also excelled with four A*, three A and four B-grades, while Louisa Dixon, Madelaine Stanfield and Daniel Thompson all gained 11 passes, five of which were grade As.”
Another school with plenty to smile about was Serlby Park Academy in Harworth where there was another increase in the number of students achieving top grades.
“Serlby Park are delighted with another solid set of results at GCSE and Level 2 as 60 per cent of students achieved five or more A* to C grades including English and maths,” said assistant principal Rebecca Thompson.
“Top grades, A and A*, increased by 13 per cent on last year’s results and there was a 14 per cent rise in the number of students achieving five A* to see across all subjects, to 84 per cent overall.”
“Students are currently being interviewed to secure their places for their next round of study in Serlby Park’s sixth form, which is part of the SPTA Post-16 Doncaster Partnership.”
