A woman was air-lifted to hospital by Air Ambulance following a serious accident on Stirrup Road in Oldcotes.

Two people had to be cut free by fire crews following the crash, which occured around 2pm on Wednesday, 15th January and involved two cars, a Ford Kuga and an MG.

Police were initially called to the scene and they in turn called for assistance from the ambulance and fire services.

Fire crews from Worksop, Harworth and Tuxford attended the scene and road was closed for over two hours while the emergency services dealth with the incident.

A female passenger in the Ford was the most serious injury and she was air lifed to hospital in Sheffield.

The female driver of the MG and the male driver of the Ford also sustained injuries and were taken to Bassetlaw Hospital by road ambulance.

However, both are now in a stable condition.

The road was closed while the scene was examined and cleared and re-opened at about 4.30pm.
