A police superintendent is urging people to take care on the roads after the amount of people killed in crashes in the county this year increased by 20 per cent in just nine days.

Six people have been killed and several others have been seriously injured in a series of crashes.

Temporary Superintendent Andy Hall, who is head of tactical operations for the force’s operation support unit, said: “I would like to issue a plea to everyone to take care on the roads.”
