Paul Hill,44, was told he must carry out 100 hours of community service for the bizarre incidents in which he also damaged a door and was found in possession of cannabis.

Hill, of Mosley Road, Annesley, appeared at his former partner’s home in Annesley Woodhouse on June 11 when he pushed her and broke the internal window on the door.

During a previous hearing, Mansfield Magistrates’ Court was told that after being arrested on a common assault and criminal damage charge, he then went back to his estranged partner’s house the very next day.

One neighbour described him as being ‘butt naked’ and when the police were called again, he was also found to have the drugs on him.

In mitigation, Morgan Hogarth previously said his client could not explain why he decided to shed all of his clothes.

He said: “He accepts the criminal damage charge from the outset.

“He now accepts the assault element was completely retaliatory.

“The difficulty for him was the next day. He was found with a small amount of cannabis and for reasons he finds inexplicable, he stripped naked.”

Mr Hogarth said Hill had been diagnosed with depression and appeared to have a personality disorder.

He said at the time Hill had no employment, no home and was facing the breakdown of his relationship with the victim.

He had previous convictions for drugs and public order offences.

Admitting assault, possession of a Class B drug, criminal damage and a charge outraging public decency, he was given a community order and must undergo the ‘building better relationships’ programme.

He was also given a restraining order to not contact his ex partner or visit her home.

It will remain in place until a further order is imposed.

He was also ordered to pay £50 compensation for the broken door and £85 costs to the court.
