Father Andrew Wagstaff, who has been the vicar at Worksop's Priory Church for 11 years, will hold his last service next month.
The well-known vicar will leave Worksop to take up a new role at a church in Antwerp, Belgium.
Fr Wagstaff has also stepped down as chairman of governors for the Priory School – a post he has held for 10 years.
"We held the leavers presentation last Friday which was an opportunity to say goodbye to the children and present them with their certificates of achievement," he said. "The pupils presented me with a decanter and a gift of 100 Euros to spend in Belgium."
Fr Wagstaff will start his new role in September.
"I will miss Worksop in lots of ways. I have enjoyed my time here, especially celebrating the 900th anniversary in 2003. But you just sort of know when it is time to move on. Eleven years is a good innings and I have so many parish memories."
"When you think of the number of weddings and funerals I have held – you get to know a lot of people."
Fr Wagstaff is set to conduct his final service on Sunday 20th August.
