A cheque for £435 was presented to the Lincoln Tank Memorial fund by Mark Easterbrook of the Pheasantry Brewery in East Markham at the opening night of the Lincoln Beer Festival.

The money was raised by the sale of Lincoln Tank Ale, a cask ale specially created by the Pheasantry Brewery,

Joe Cooke, chairman of the Tank Memorial Group, said “We are very grateful to Mark for his support.”

“Over the summer months there will be lots of events taking place to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the First World War and Mark’s ale would be a fitting addition to any event”.

The ale, originally sold in casks, has proved so successful that the brewery now plans to bottle it.

It will also be on sale at the Pheasantry Brewery’s second annual Beer Festival at the Brewery in East Markham from 20th to 22nd June.
