A BIRCOTES woman with a drink problem stole a bike from a 13-year-old boy after he left it unlocked outside a shop.
Hazel Baker, 26, admitted stealing the bike on 20th April and a box of KitKats on 3rd June from the One Stop shop.
Rod Chapman, prosecuting, said: “The 13-year-old had cycled up to the shop. He left his bike on the floor and left it insecure.”
“He saw a woman who looked drunk. When he went back to his bike, it had gone.”
Defence solicitor David Grant said: “The defendant was in drink on both occasions. She clearly has a drink problem.”
Worksop magistrates gave Baker a 12 month community order with a supervision requirement and ordered her to pay 50 compensation.
