Cyclist dies after A57 crash

It happened at around 1.20am yesterday, Sunday, June 19, when a pedal bike was in collision with a Volkswagen Corrado on the A57.

The cyclist — a 41-year-old man — was taken to Bassetlaw District General Hospital in a critical condition. He died there in the early hours of this morning, Monday, June 20.

A woman was treated at the scene for shock. No one else was injured.

The road was closed in both directions, near its junction with the A60. It re-opened around four hours later.
