Brave David Landau, 30, who is battling terminal bowel cancer, tied the knot with his fiancée Nicole Scott last Friday- fulfilling his dying wish.

The wedding had originally been planned for September but, after doctors suggested the date be brought forward as David may not survive that long, the couple were left with just nine days to plan the ceremony.

Charity Gift of a Wedding received more than 7,000 offers from businesses up and down the country keen to come to David’s aid and offer their services- everything from the venue to the dress- free of charge.

Kind-hearted members of the Worksop community also donated hundreds of pounds to the cause via a Just Giving page.

The couple, who have a 13-month-old daughter, Lucy, finally became Mr and Mrs Landau in an emotional ceremony at The Sitwell Arms in Renishaw.

David’s sister, Susan Stokes, called the wedding ‘a miracle’.

She went on: “The day was absolutely magical and we all had a fantastic day.

“There were a few tears of happiness, but it was still a day of great celebration.

People travelled from all over the country to celebrate David and Nicole’s special day and kindly donate their services for the ceremony.

“To name a few, we had videographers all the way the Isle of Wigh and a Bentley car from Daren Tadders in Luton.

“Because of David’s illness, he and Nicole were unable to work and were worried they wouldn’t save up enough money to make their dream come true.

“We can’t thank everyone who helped to perform this miracle enough.”

Following the wedding, David’s family have now set up a Just Giving page for Lucy.

It is hoped £1,000 will be raised through the website- funds which will be put towards Lucy’s future and also given to a charity which helped David through his cancer battle.

Susan added: “Like most people his age, David did not have any life insurance and now its too late. “Money raised will go towards little Lucy’s future.

“A percentage will also go towards MacMillan Cancer Care, who have been absolutely fantastic in providing everyday essentials to help David’s quality of life.”
