Residents across the Five Towns can get into the festive spirit next week when Christmas lights are switched on across the district.
Pontefract town centre will be lit up on Monday night.
There will be a Christmas market and fun fair from 4.30pm with the lights being switched on at 6.30pm.
A similar event will also take place in Castleford on Tuesday night, at the same times.
Featherstone’s festive display will be switched on at 6pm on Wednesday.
There will also be a parade down Station Lane.
Next month, there will be carol concert at Pontefract Castle.
Two performances of Carols in the Dungeon by the Wakefield Gilbert and Sullivan Society will take place on December 13, one at 7pm and one at 8.15pm.
Tickets cost £6 and include festive refreshments. Tickets are available from Pontefract Museum and the castle.
There will also be a Christmas market in Pontefract town centre on the same day from 9am to 4pm.
