THURCROFT Theatre Group is on the look out for a new musical director to guide them through future shows and help them to grow.
The group, which performs cabaret style shows with singing and dancing, has been without a musical director at the helm since November.
“This is the first time that we have found ourselves in this position without a musical director in our entire history,” said group member Judith Howard.
“Our last musical director finished with our last show on 17th November.”
“We knew that he was leaving us after our last show as he had other commitments.”
The group is hoping that the new musical director will work with them, and help them to put on even more performances each year.
“The role of the musical director would include selecting and teaching us songs and the arrangements of the music,” continued Judith.
“It is a specialised role, but we would be happy to consider people who have never done it before.”
“Quite a lot of musical directors may work as music teachers or something similar. We are happy for someone to learn the role as they go if they are the right person,” she added.
The group is inviting anyone who is interested in becoming its musical director to go along one evening and find out what they do.
The group rehearse every Wednesday evening at the Gordon Bennett Memorial Hall in Thurcroft from 7.30- 9.45pm.
New members are always welcome.
