THOUSANDS of pounds worth of farm machinery has been destroyed in a fire at a farm in Clumber Park.
The fire, in an outbuilding at Hardwick Grange Farm, started at around 10.30pm on Saturday.
Firefighters from Worksop, Retford and Mansfield were quickly on the scene but the blaze had already taken hold.
The barn, which measures around 50 metres square, was being used to store bales of hemp and farm machinery.
"Everything in the building was very combustible so it would not have been long before the fire took hold," said Sub Officer Chris Footit from Worksop fire station.
He also said two 200-year-old horse drawn carriages were removed from a nearby building as a precaution.
