Volunteer to hlp out at beer festival at Magna

Organisers of Rotherham Real Ale and Music Festival have launched a search for volunteers to help staff at the event.

The festival is the largest of its kind in the north of England and needs more than 200 volunteers every night to staff the bars, help performers, sell tickets and help with the set-up and take down.

This year will see the festival offer a Wild West Spectacular, bringing together more than 250 varieties of Real Ale.

Festival organiser, Stephen Burns said: “Volunteering at the festival is a great way of being part of the one of the biggest beer festivals in the north. Without the generosity and good will from our volunteers, it would be practically impossible for an event of the same size and scale to take place.”

Proceeds will go to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity, the Rotherham Hospice and the Magna education trust.

Since the festival moved to Magna in 2011, it has raised more than £75,000 for charity

All volunteers receive free entry to the festival, as well as an official festival T-shirt, glass and meal.
