AROUND 14,000 homes and businesses across Worksop have been affected by power cuts this morning (Wednesday 7th November).

Western Power Distribution say an underground and overhead cable fault have been causing customers to experience power surges this morning.

The spokesman said engineers were notified to the fault at 8.20am today.

“Customers should have their power restored today - however they may experience temporary loss of supply while we work to restore power permanently,” she said.

“Engineers are working on both faults which should be fully corrected by tomorrow.”

It is business as usual in Worksop town centre as shops and homes experienced temporary loss of power this morning.

Town centre businesses have reported power cuts and flickering lights but say trade has been unaffected.

Power surges have also been reported at North Notts College and North Notts Arena.
