Teenager denies causing death of school pals
A TEENAGER accused of causing the deaths of two school friends by driving dangerously near Blidworth has had his trial put back until September.
Eighteen-year-old Matthew Baker, of Station Lane, Farnsfield, denied causing the deaths of his 17-year-old friends James Moodie and Max Dixon when he appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday.
Baker is accused of driving a Peugeot 106 on Fishpool Road on 16th September last year when the car collided with a Ford Mondeo coming in the other direction.
All three teenagers were pupils at the Minster School in Southwell.
Baker's trial, which is expected to last five days, was due to start on 6th July but has been put back to 28th September.
Judge Andrew Hamilton said to the families of the two young men who died that it was a terrible wait, but necessary for justice to be done.
