Notts Police crack down on drivers without seat belts.

NOTTS Police have raked in more than £12,000 from a recent campaign, after catching over 400 motorists driving without a seatbelt.

Figures released by the authority show 442 drivers were discovered without a seatbelt and issued a 30 fine penalty.

Drivers using a mobile phone were also targeted, and 55 tickets were issued to motorists, each netting a 60 fine and three points on their licence.

Seven vehicles were seized for having no insurance or driving licence, 13 endorsable tickets were issued for road offences including speeding and 19 other tickets were handed out.

The figures mark a considerable drop on last year's campaign, which saw 1,327 drivers receive the 30 fine for not wearing a seatbelt, while 291 tickets were issued to drivers using a mobile phone.
