Man admits to lewd act

A WORKSOP man was caught committing an indecent act in his car in the middle of the afternoon, a court heard.

Harry Philip Thompson, 62, of Hillside Crescent, admitted committing an act outraging public decency at Worksop Magistrates Court on Thursday.

The court heard Thompson was seen in his car on Turner Road by a passer-by at 1.20pm on 19th January. The police were called and Thompson was arrested.

David Verity, defending, said Thompson knew his behaviour was ‘unacceptable’. He said Thompson was an ‘isolated and lonely man’ since the death of his wife in 2003.

Thompson will be sentenced on 23rd February and was made to sign the Sex Offenders Register. He will remain on it until his next hearing.
