Man swore at officers
In Court
A WORKSOP man swore at police officers after drinking too much at a friend’s funeral.
Graham Padley, 55, of Rayton Spur, admitted using threatening words or behaviour on 3rd November.
Worksop magistrates heard police received reports of a collision involving a cyclist and on arrival found Padley unsteady on his feet.
Prosecutor Ruth Snowdin said when officers took Padley to Stubbing Lane, where he claimed to live, he started swearing near people who were attending a firework display.
Defence solicitor Jamie Radcliffe said his client had drunk too much at a friend’s funeral and accepts that his behaviour was ‘completely out of order’.
His sentence was a six-month conditional discharge and £15 victim surcharge.
