Bassetlaw Hospital matron Lynne Whitaker who has battled cancer is gearing up for a major bike ride to raise funds for specialist cancer charity Aurora Wellbeing.
Lynne, 42, will cycle over 800 miles from John O’Groats to Lands End from 12th to 16th September this year.
The mum of two said she owes a lot to Aurora after the charity helped her through a difficult period since being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008.
“To me it has been an excellent support mechanism and I have had the privilege to meet so many inspirational people,” she said.
Over in Oldcotes Northern Garden Supplies opened their doors last night to host a quiz night in aid of The Bassetlaw Aurora Wellbeing centre.

The night raised £120 towards the planned conversation of the old library building on Memorial Avenue which will house therapy rooms, cafe and gentle gym.
Aurora wishes to expand to Worksop from its current centres in Doncaster and Mexborough.
Anyone who would like to get involved with fundraising for the Aurora Centre or would like to know more about the work the charity does should contact Sally Richardson on 01909 502767.
