Fire crews kept busy in Creswell and Whitwell

Fire crews had a busy evening in the Bolsover area last night (Monday 4th March).

At just after 4.30pm firefighters attended a grass fire off Elmton Close in Creswell.

Several small areas of grass and trees were alight, covering an area roughly 60m square.

Water backpacks and beaters were used to put out the flames.

Then at 7.25pm crews from Staveley attended a wheelie bin fire in Larpit Green, Whitwell.

The fire had spread to an adjacent property. Firefighters spent around an hour at the scene extinguishing the blaze.
