MOTORISTS on the A57 are facing delays after a car collided with a lorry on Worksop Road near Lindrick Golf Club this morning (Monday).

Fire crews, police and an air ambulance attended the scene following the incident which happened at 9.45am.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said the female driver of the Peugeot 206 was airlifted to Northern General Hospital with serious injuries.

The road has been closed at Anston crossroads.

A South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue spokesman reminded people to think about road safety.

“They need to think about what they are doing, especially on the A57 where there have been a lot of accidents. People need to be aware of the dangers,” he said.
