Clowne curfew

A CLOWNE man who attacked his then-girlfriend on New Year’s Day has been placed under a night time curfew.
Lee Greasley must also pay compensation to Faye Stansfield for the assault, which marked the end of their nine-month relationship.
Ms Stansfield told police he sometimes stayed at her home and the relationship was difficult.
Chesterfield magistrates heard that they went out separately with friends on New Year’s Eve. He called her but she did not want to meet.
Helen Griffiths, prosecuting, said they met by chance outside a cash machine and he grabbed her wrist during a row.
“She said she wanted to end the relationship. He grabbed her arm again and said he wasn’t frightened of police. She felt scared and began to cry,” said Mrs Griffiths.
They bought food and went to Ms Stansfield’s home in Northfields, Clowne. She went to bed after a row.
The court heard how Greasley dragged her off the bed, punched and kicked her shoulder, grabbed her hair and threw her into a cupboard. Mrs Griffiths said he had threatened to throw her out of the bedroom window.
Greasley, 35, of King Street, Clowne, admitted assault and criminal damage, but denied kicking her or grabbing her hair or throwing her into a cupboard.
He received a one-year probation supervision order and a 7pm-7am curfew for three months. He must also pay £300 compensation, £60 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
“He says there is no excuse for what he did. It was his first proper relationship, it was coming to an end and he lost his temper,” said Denney Lau, for Greasley. “It is a one-off incident and he has shown tremendous remorse.”
