Kind-hearted folk in the Worksop area have been busy donating money to worthwhile causes across the district.

Help for Heroes Notts county co-ordinator Tony Eaton collected £100,000 on behalf of the charity from Paralympic medallist Jon-Allan Butterworth and Beehive pub landlady Emma Swan.

Mr Eaton also collected £300 from Audrey Agnew of the Worksop Lions and was proud to be at the special opening of the new disabled access area to Yorkshire Bank in Worksop.

Elsewhere, Bassetlaw Hospice and Macmillan Nurses received £375 each, donated by Friends of Bassetlaw Indoor Bowls Club.

While Worksop Miners’ Welfare donated money to Help for Heroes and Macmillan Cancer Research.
