Ban for not stopping

A PLASTERER who failed to stop for police has been banned from driving.

Jack Richardson, 22, of Dukeries Crescent, Worksop, admitted failing to stop for an officer and driving without the correct licence or insurance on 22nd December.

Worksop Magistrates’ Court heard Richardson had decided to drive to buy cigarettes in his father’s car.

Prosecutor Ruth Snowdin said Richardson attempted to lose officers in Manton. He left the car and was caught returning to it, she added.

Defence solicitor Andrew Osbourne said Richardson made a ‘foolish’ decision and had only driven a short distance on his provisional licence. Magistrates gave him six points, which made him eligible for a six month ban under the totting-up procedure. He must also pay £405 in fines and costs.
