Lincs: No-one will be out-running this police car any time soon

Lincolnshire police appear to have beefed up their game when it comes to caching speeding drivers after unveiling a fully liveried Lotus Esprit police car this week.

But the car, capable of speeds of 138mph, is only for show as it has been borrowed the Norfolk force and Lotus cars for the period of the Lincolnshire Show.

“We’re using it to highlight the work we do with the Road Safety Partnership to tackle the Fatal 4 (drink/drugs driving, speed, seatbelts and mobile phones),” said a spokesman.

“It helps to draw people in and engage with us, which gives us an opportunity to get our message across.”
