Search for local apple

The gardens team at Clumber Park are searching for more information about a very local apple variety called Sisson’s Worksop Newton.

We believe that it was grown from seed in Worksop in 1910 by a Mr Sissons.

But that is all we know! We would love to know more about this local character and find out about where the original tree was planted. Is it still growing somewhere in Worksop?

This most local of varieties is part of our Regional Apple Tree project and we would welcome any information by contacting -
