Thank you for including a photograph and information in last week’s Guardian about the exciting development of new sculptures for Bridge Street.

This is the result of partnership working between Worksop Civic Society (WCS), North Notts College and the district and county councils. A lot of hard work has gone into this project and the final designs have been on display for the past week in the foyer of the town hall. We look forward to their full installation in the early summer.

WCS will be holding their AGM on Tuesday 29th April at 6pm for 6.30pm start at North Notts College (come to reception on Carlton Road side for room details) where there will be an opportunity to talk with the staff and students who have worked on the Bridge Street Project and learn about how the designs evolved.

When the WCS was launched there was a great deal of good will and support, ‘Just what Worksop Needs!’ Now two years on we have become fully constituted and can boast success with two projects which have made a difference.

I would like to invite any of your readers to join with us, hear more about what has happened and help develop future plans. With more participation our achievements for Worksop will be the greater. Please come along. For further information please contact 07951160325 or worksopcs@live.co.uk
