LETTER: Remembering the town 30 years ago

I miss going to the Co-op which was three storeys high and you used to be able to get in a lift to get to the top floor.
When you used to go out for a drink at the weekend, we always used to start at the top of town from the Top House to The Ship, Wine Cellar and then Excetera.

We would always end up in the Tiger’s Den, which is now a car park in the Priory Centre, and calling in the chip shop on Potter Street on the way home which if I remember rightly it was run by Kathleen McDonald.
