An inquest has been opened into the death of a South Anston man killed when a car hit him at Kiveton Park.
Darren Platt, 52, of St David’s Drive, South Anston, died at the scene on Hard Lane on Saturday 1st March.
He was on foot when the collision happened at around 10.20am that morning.
It was revealed last week that Mr Platt had worked for South Yorkshire Police in the Crime Management unit at Barnsley.
Nicola Mundy, coroner for Rotherham, opened the inquest on Friday 7th March.
It was adjourned until 23rd July to allow investigations to continue.
