As soon as she fell pregnant, Kelly Stanley knew she would give birth on Boxing Day.

Despite being due on 21st December she knew her little bundle of joy would be late.

And she was right.

Little Tobias Brook Stanley was born at 5.37am, weighing 8lb 6oz, at Bassetlaw Hospital on 26th December.

“I don’t know why I thought it but I always said he would come on Boxing Day,” said Kelly, 30. “My girls were both late so I knew he would be too. Not being a betting person I didn’t find out if you could have a bet on it, but I should have.”

Kelly enjoyed Christmas Day as planned with husband Lee and daughters Alyssa, six, and Tiana, 20 months.

She went into labour at 3.50am and just over two hours later Tobias was born.

“I was prepared for a long labour,” added Kelly, of New Ollerton. “I was in labour with my girls for over 10 hours with one and over 20 hours with the other, so I was expecting it to be the same, but it was really quick.”

Kelly and Lee, originally from Worksop, are now settling back into family life with their new addition.
