School children in Gateford have created a series of new signs for the village.

Pupils from Gateford Park Primary School and St John’s Church of England Primary School entered a competition to design the signs.

Judges praised the high standard and said it had been hard to pick the winners - Harry Tomlin, 11, Hayden Greaves, 9, Ben Mitchell, 10, Ruby Cordall, 8, and Evan Bownes, 8.

Coun Fielding added: “The children have captured perfectly the village scenes and I’m sure they will be a real talking point as people enter the village.”
