The ballot on the proposed initiative began this week and businesses are being urged to vote ‘Yes’ to transform the area into a BID to secure £3.2 million in funding which can be spent in Bassetlaw over the next five years.

The BID initiative was officially launched at a recent event held at Hodsock Priory, which gave businesses across the area the chance to hear more about the project and its aims.

Now a series of one-day events are being staged at venues across the area to give even more businesses the chance to discuss the plans and have their questions answered.

Steve Bennett, managing director of Traffic Labour Supplies, Retford and vice chair of the BID Steering Group, said he decided to get involved with the BID because of the potential it can unleash for the area.

“From large businesses to community projects, it will make a difference and help pave the way for continued improvement,” said Steve.

“It excites me to know that there are like-minded people out there that want to see this area improved.”
