A Worksop family is rallying round to raise money for the British Heart Foundation after first hand experience of a heart attack.
Ian Mullen, 30, had been suffering chest pains for weeks before he suffered a cardiac arrest in June this year.
His situation was critical but the staff at Sheffield’s Northern General Hospital helped him back to health.
“We are really grateful to them for everything they have done. It has been a really hard few months for us,” said Ian’s partner Kelly Wallis, 26.
Ian is now back at home resting and spending time with his family.
But the couple, and Ian’s sister Michelle, are now busy organising a fun day to raise money for those who helped him - the critical care unit and British Heart Foundation.
It will take place in the Canch Park, Memorial Avenue, Worksop, on Saturday 28th September from 12 noon - 5pm.
There will be children’s dancing displays by the Cheeky Pops group, a raffle, tombola, lots of fun games and stalls, face painting, balloon modelling and more.
Anyone wanting to hold a stall can get leave a message for Kelly with the Worksop Guardian on 01909 500500.
