Sports team is simply the best

A VALLEY sports team have officially been named ‘the best’ around.

And this week the four boys who play table tennis got their hands on the trophy to prove it.

The school’s under 13s table tennis team were named the winners of the Best Sports Team category at our Best in Schools Awards, which were set up to recognise the very best in local education.

The team, consists of Kyle McIntosh, Ewan Pickersgill, Owen Shutt and Jack Kirkland, were nominated for the award by parent Joanne McIntosh.

“They are a very dedicated team of four boys - three in year seven and one in year eight,” said PE teacher Jasmin Openshaw.

“They are four very good friends who train together and all came from Redlands Primary, so a big thankyou must go them.”

“They recently came third in the English Schools competition in the under 13s category and are now one of the best under 13s table tennis teams in the country.”

The team wwas nominated for the award by parent Joanne McIntosh.

“The boys know they they are one of the best under13 school table tennis teams in the country which is a very high acheivment, and as parents we are extremely proud of them all.” she said.
