The Worksop Guardian has launched its brand new Best in Schools Awards 2011 to celebrate the shining stars of education across the region.
Best in Schools Awards 2011 will see prizes awarded not just to teachers, but to all other people that help to make a child’s day at school enjoyable.
Teaching assistants, lunch people and star pupil are just some of the categories we are seeking nomination for.
All the winners will be presented with awards at a glamorous awards night later this year in Worksop.
As a local newspaper the Guardian understands all the hard work that happens in schools around Bassetlaw.
We want to celebrate success and give recognition to those that deserve it.
Instead of using exam results and league tables to measure schools’ achievements, we will be focusing on the human side of schooling – the people and activities that change lives or put smiles on pupils’, parents’ and colleagues’ faces.
We’ve come up with 10 categories which recognise the hard work that goes into making school the special place they are and the people who make a difference.
The 10 categories to enter are:
- Best lunch person
- Best teaching assistant
- Best headteacher
- Best teacher
- Best green school
- Best school
- Best sports team
- Most improved student
- Star pupil
- Best nursery
There will be prizes across the board, so get your thinking caps on and let us know who you think deserves some recognition.
Is there a teacher that has made learning fun or a staff member that makes your child feel happy and secure at school? Has your school got an outstanding sports team or a star pupil, then let us know?
Maybe you think your school is just the best, then we want to hear from you, so get in touch.
To nominate someone for an award simply send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or give us a call on 01909 500500.
Let us know who you would like to nominate. Don’t forget to let us know which category you want to enter and why you think they deserve the award.
