Statistics released by the NHS show that staff at East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust have been subjected to more than 100 assaults in the past year.
The figures revealed that 68,683 NHS staff from 266 health bodies were assaulted in 2013/2014 in total.
The data was validated by NHS Protect, with all other data the responsibility of The Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC).
In total there were 115 physical assaults on employees at the EMAS Trust with 18 of the assaults involving medical factors and 97 assaults not involving medical factors.
NHS Protect spokesman said: “Care should be taken when comparing assault figures as there are many factors which may influence a health body’s published figures.”
