Viewers in Worksop can find out more about the region’s switch to digital television as the switchover roadshow arrives in town as part of a tour of the Yorkshire TV region.
Digit Al, the switchover robot, will join the roadshow team outside Barclays Bank on Bridge Street from 9am-5pm on Wednesday 22nd June.
The team will be offering practical advice on how to get set for digital, as well as the Switchover Help Scheme for older and disabled people.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to find out when the switchover is happening, see technical demonstrations and put questions to Digital UK’s specially-trained advisers.
Digital UK regional manager for Yorkshire John Askew urged people to come along to find out more about the switchover, which will happen in August in Worksop this year.
“The whole of the Yorkshire TV region, covering more than six million viewers, will have switched to digital by the end of September,” he said.
“This is a great opportunity for people to meet the teams from Digital UK and the Switchover Help Scheme, find out how to prepare and learn what assistance is available.”
Anyone unable to attend the roadshow can ring the Digital UK advice line on 08456 505050 or visit digitaluk.co.uk. The Switchover Help Scheme is on 0800 40 85 900, and at helpscheme.co.uk.
